This two-day class is an immersive experience in watercolor technique with portraits as the subject. Whether you’re new to portraits or continuing your study, this workshop will be of value and will reinforce your drawing and watercolor skills. An emphasis will be made on your ability to “look harder” and “see more”. We’ll discuss what to look for in portrait reference, how to find good subject matter, and build your library of potential portraits. You will be shown different approaches, techniques, and styles. Exercises will be given to develop your skills, and after the exercises, there will be time for you to use your skills on a portrait painting(s) of your choice. Each session will reinforce your ability to SEE! The group will share our work and discuss our progress. Students meet from 9 am to 4 pm, with a lunch break from 12-1 pm. Please contact the Arts Center for a list of supplies.
