Locks, Talks, and Bocks

08/11/2022

On Sunday August 14, from 12 to 5 p.m., join the Cayuga Museum in Weedsport for an easy afternoon of summer fun at the upcoming event “Locks, Talks, & Bocks”. Take a walk along the Cayuga County stretch of the Erie Canal from Centreport Aqueduct in Weedsport to Schasel Park in Port Byron, whet your appetite for a cold drink with a presentation from Cayuga Museum staff about the history of brewing in the County, and grab a complimentary beer from Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing while listening to live music from Wits End Unplugged from 2 to 4 p.m.

Registrations may be made online or at the Cayuga Museum table until 1:30 p.m. at Centreport Aqueduct in Brutus during the event. Registration is $10 for non-museum members, $8 for members, and includes access to the talk and a complimentary beverage. Register online at cayugamuseum.org/locks-talks-bocks/

Visitors will be responsible for their own transportation. The talk and live music are the only strictly scheduled parts: free drink tickets can be redeemed at any time while the event is taking place. A map and schedule of events will be provided when you check-in at Centreport Aqueduct. Reservations must be purchased to receive drink tickets. You may contact Geoff Starks at geoffrey@cayugamuseum.org or 315-253-8051 with any questions.

Locks, Talks, & Bocks” is a program of the Cayuga Museum’s 2022 Proof Positive exhibit, exploring the history of craft beverage production and the Temperance movement in Cayuga County. These programs are made possible in part by our Exhibitor Sponsors, as well as the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Everett Charitable Trust.
