Stop by for a relaxed, drop-in storytime with our special guest, Toby the therapy dog! Children are invited to pick the books we read together and spend some time hanging out with Toby. If they’d like, kids can even practice reading to him—Toby is a wonderful listener and loves hearing stories.

This casual pop-up program is a great way for young readers to build confidence, enjoy books, and share some quiet time with a friendly furry friend. Stay for a story, read a book to Toby, or simply come by to say hello!

Why Therapy Dogs?
Therapy dogs are friendly, patient, and comforting, making them perfect reading companions. They help build children’s confidence, improve fluency, and foster a love for reading—all while creating a positive and stress-free experience.

How It Works:

  • Who Can Join: This program is open to children of all reading levels.
  • What to Expect: Kids can choose a book for Ms. Nancy to read aloud, or they can pick books to show or read to Toby themselves.

Drop in between 5:00 and 5:30 pm in the children’s area. No registration required.
