The exhibition “Storms” will be on display in the Hurst Gallery December 11, 2024 through March 30, 2025.
Storms is a study in the beauty of movement and change. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and the striking landscapes of the Finger Lakes, this collection seeks to capture the awe and wonder found in life’s turbulent moments. With vibrant skies and shifting horizons, the lines between chaos and playfulness blur, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the freedom of unpredictability.
Michael lives, works, and paints in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. With loose gestural marks and layered applications of paint, Michael seeks to not only capture his surroundings as a scene but also as time. Each painting begins with exploration. Country roads, creek beds, and scenic vistas are captured in sketchbooks, where they later help inform the paintings worked up in the studio.
