The public is invited to learn about 19th century millinery shops on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the Geneva History Museum, 543 S. Main Street, Geneva. The program, “From the Showroom to the Workroom: A Visual Tour of the 19th-Century Millinery Shop,” is sponsored by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes in cooperation with Historic Geneva. The program is free.
Attendees will be able to step inside the world of a 19th-century millinery shop, where fashion, craftsmanship, and commerce intertwined. In this engaging presentation, historian and straw milliner Anna Worden will take audiences on a visual exploration of both the showroom and the workroom, revealing what these spaces looked like, what they sold, and the tools and materials used to craft fashionable hats and bonnets.
