“Tuesdays with BOA Editions” Celebrates Leading Poets from BOA’s Catalog

Writers & Books, Rochester’s center for the literary arts, and BOA Editions, the iconic Rochester-based publisher of poetry and literary works, continue their collaborative reading series, Tuesdays with BOA, into 2021. The virtual showcase highlights some of today’s most exciting authors being published under BOA’s imprint. Events are free to the public; tickets can be reserved at www.wab.org.

All events feature the authors in conversation with Peter Conners, BOA Editions’ Executive Director, who takes attendees on a behind-the-scenes tour of the creative process. He observes, “One thing I love about Tuesdays with BOA is its intimate glimpse inside the working writer’s world. Where do ideas come from? How can daily life and writing fuel each other? What’s it like to publish a book?”

Rick Bursky kicks off the series on Tuesday, December 8, 7:30 pm, reading from his latest poetry collection, Let’s Become A Ghost Story, called by poet Matthea Harvey “sensical [surrealism] grounded in real emotion, which allows these poems to soar.”

December 15, 7:30 pm, John Gallaher reads from Brand New Spacesuit, his most recent book of poems, described as “relentlessly alive” by Kathleen Peirce, author of Vault, who writes, “Read these poems in succession and at the pace they create and you’ll have proof that art lets us, wants us, to read another’s mind.”
