Within the Finger Lakes Region this summer, we’re able to experience great musical talent among our beautiful wineries, parks and restaurants. Each week is sure to hold something new. This upcoming week features a group called The Uptown Groove, a local jazz, Motown, R&B soul, funk, and rock band based out of Western New York.
The Uptown Groove is sure to get your head bobbing, as they cover some of the most popular pop/soft rock hits of this decade. While adding their own authentic, rustic sound, the work of the original artist is clear as day when hearing these tunes. Along with their Current Top 40 pop/rock covers, The Uptown Groove throws their own songs into their setlists to give fans a taste of the band’s true sound within self-written work. This group has been praised by event bookers/wedding goers as the band is very personable. Whether that means learning songs upon request, or being easy to communicate with, The Uptown Groove maintains a good standing among their fans.
The Uptown Groove is performing at Casa Larga (https://www.casalarga.com), a winery located on Turk Hill Road, Rochester, on July 29 for a patio party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event features catering brought to you by RIT along with local food trucks, wine, and craft beer.

Jackson Snaith is a Finger Lakes native and will soon be starting his final year studying media management at SUNY Fredonia. As a drummer, Jackson has a true passion for music and an interest in the music scene around him. He enjoys seeing live performances, especially smaller acts that might not get the recognition they deserve. His hope is that his writing may inspire others to attend live shows within the Finger Lakes Region to help support the local and regional acts that perform in the area.
