“My family and our grandchildren have been involved with the Conservatory for many years.” explains Alan Vogel, Community Organizer and GrassRoots Liaison, “The Conservatory is a central cultural hub to our community in a unique historic structure, which many of us have supported and worked on. The Gems of the Finger Lakes: GrassRoots Unplugged event is a wonderful example of two long term local institutions working together to showcase our vast and talented community. Both organizations provide an opportunity for artistic expression to all of us who participate which I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of.”

“We are indeed grateful to be partnering with GrassRoots on this event. The generosity of the musicians, technicians, and community volunteers involved in producing this festival has been incredible. All “Gems of the Finger Lakes: GrassRoots Unplugged” performers are donating their time, energy, and talent to help the Conservatory meet our match. We look forward to throwing a great party with something for everyone, just like at GrassRoots Music and Dance Festival,” states Dona Roman, TCFA Director.

The Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts is engaged in a Capital Campaign to renovate and restore their beautiful 1851 Greek revival building. We are currently working to match the funds provided by the New York Council on the Arts in the amount of $279,000. We have raised over a third of the match  and are well on our way to raising the rest. This two-day festival, featuring some of the area’s favorite performers from GrassRoots, will be our next big Capital Campaign event. It’s ‘Fewer Amps Help Us Revamp!’”
