All funds to support critical care and long-term recovery of Australian wildlife
Seneca Park Zoo is actively taking donations to support Australian wildlife relief. All funds raised will be donated to the Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund, established by Zoo Victoria. Donations can be made on the Zoo’s Facebook page, or at the front gate of the Zoo.
An estimated one billion animals have perished in the Australian bush fires, and critical habitat has been destroyed, creating a dire situation for wildlife long term.
“Australia is one of the most bio-diverse places in the world,” commented Acting Zoo Director David Hamilton. “To see such devastation to wildlife is absolutely heart-breaking. We stand by our colleagues around the world in taking action for wildlife conservation.”
“The wildfires in Australia and impacts to wildlife are devasting,” commented County Executive Adam Bello. “I’m proud Seneca Park Zoo is championing this fundraising initiative and I appreciate the community’s support for this important relief effort.”
Donations can be made at facebook.com/senecaparkzoo or at the Zoo’s front gates daily between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
