Pittsford Fine Art, the Rochester area’s newest gallery featuring top local artists, will show the work of Rochester painter Valerie Larsen as its featured guest artist of the month in October. The opening reception will be Friday, Oct. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Larsen paints large, illustrative watercolors featuring a wide range of subjects whose common thread is to capture what is remarkable in our everyday experience.
Larsen is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the Watercolor USA Honor Society. She has participated in numerous national exhibitions. Her work appears in six Splash books, by Northlight Books. She has taught regional workshops, has been an instructor of watercolor at the Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Rochester, and was an artist-in-residence at Artisan Works. Larsen has a studio and gallery in the Anderson Arts Building, which features four floors of art and culturally related studios in the Neighborhood of the Arts.
