In this virtual class, you will learn how to choose the right sauté pan, understand temperature control, and gain invaluable preparation tips all while making a delicious meal from the comfort of your own home! WINES OF SENECA LAKE

Seneca Lake is the largest of the Finger Lakes, hosting more than 50 beautiful vineyards that stretch for hundreds of acres on sloping hills that surround the lake. The combination of its depth and sloping hillsides creates a perfect environment for many grape varietals. In this class, we’ll explore what makes these wines special to our region, and you’ll be led through tasting some of the best wines of Seneca Lake by our certified wine educator.

Wontons and dumplings are delicious, filled pockets of noodle dough that are fun and easy to make, especially after you learn some tips from our Chef Instructor. Not only are they delicious, but they are also versatile as they can be prepared in a variety of ways. From the comfort of your own kitchen, make pork potstickers and vegetable wontons, step-by-step with New York Kitchen’s chef!

WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN WINES
Saturday, January 22, 2022 | 9am – 5pm
For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings. WSET LEVEL 2 AWARD IN WINES

This course is a beginner to intermediate level qualification exploring wines, suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Wine & Cheese: Each is delicious on its own, but when you pair the two, magic can happen. In this class, we’ll discuss the variety of choices and what combinations make the best pairings. A classic cheeseboard will be paired with a tasting of wines, all made here in New York State! As our wine educator guides you through sampling these selections, we will discuss considerations for creating an interesting, well-balanced cheese board, including ideas for a wide range of delicious accompaniments.
