Cornell Outdoor Education (COE) is proud to announce the opening or their newly renovated Lindseth Climbing Center, located on Cornell University campus in Ithaca. Anyone can climb at the Lindseth Climbing Center. Open to the community, the facility showcases a new 6,200 square foot upgrade to the Lindseth Climbing Wall. Add this to the 1800 square feet of original natural rock climbing surface, and all level and ages of climbers will have over 8000 square feet of terrain to explore. Features include 50-foot vertical routes for all experience levels, lead wall and sport climbing routes, as well as a brand new 55-foot long and 14-foot tall bouldering wall. The center has the full range of membership options from individual to family, from day passes and punch cards to annual passes. As part of the grand opening, during the holiday season, they are offering ‘Learn-the-Ropes’ lesson packages for free with any month, semester or annual pass purchase.
COE’s mission is “teamwork, leadership & growth.” As a teaching organization, COE offers numerous ‘Learn-the-Ropes’ programs each week for anyone interested in climbing. The community may join by taking this orientation program. We also offer private and small group lessons, a variety of climbing classes, and programs for all organizations and skill levels. COE is an excellent community resource for everyone in the Finger Lakes region. Located in Bartels Hall on the campus of Cornell University (554 Campus Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850), with ample free parking next to the building during Climbing Center open hours. Recently selected as the national program of excellence by the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE), COE invites you to come and climb with us.
