Free Finger Lakes Region Event Boasts 13 Artists, 9 Locations, October 3-4
Naples Open Studio Trail, a group of dynamic, innovative artists that invite the public into their studios the first weekend of every October, is one of the only Art Shows in the Rochester region that is open during the 2020 pandemic. This year, the free, self-guided Trail showcases the studios and art of 13 artists in nine locations that focus on Naples and border around Canandaigua Lake.
Tom Glynn of Old Dog Wine Barrel Creations (furniture and wall art) joins the Trail for the first time this year and will be showing across the street from Scott Grove (furniture, sculpture), who is hosting Mark Stash (paintings) and Joanne Schwallie of Ravenwyne Mercantile (artisan bath and body).
Joyce Martelli (fiber art) is also new to the Trail; she’ll be showing her work at Lauren Hirsh’s (multimedia) studio. Other artists include:
- Albie Alliet (paintings)
- Folk Art Guild Artisans (woodshop and pottery)
- Thomas MacAllister (furniture)
- Joan Mitchell (alpaca wearables)
- Judy Voss (denim wearables)
Now in its 19th year, the Naples Open Studio Trail weekend draws people from all over the region to the Finger Lakes. During this free event, visitors can stop by all the studios or only those that strike a particular art interest; many Studio Trail artists conduct captivating demonstrations; during the Studio Trail weekend, purchases and commissions can be made directly with the artist.
The artists will be following New York State’s COVID-19 guidelines and will require masks for every visit and social distancing when appropriate.
