Bethany & Rufus live show on Saturday, April 28
Hunt Country Vineyards has been donating 5% of all wine sales made during the month of April to the Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium. It’s the beginning of a partnership between a local business and an organization that share a common mission for promoting and protecting the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes.
“We are thrilled to establish this partnership with the Hunts,” says Natalie Payne, executive director of FLM&A.
“It’s exciting to collaborate with an organization that shares our passion for both the cultural and natural history of the region,” says Suzanne Hunt, director of strategic development at Hunt Country Vineyards and a global consultant on renewable energy.
To top off the month-long partnership, Hunt Country Vineyards will feature entertainment by recording artists Bethany & Rufus at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 28 at their winery at 4021 Italy Hill Road in Branchport.
Bethany Yarrow and Rufus Cappadocia are a voice and cello duo from Brooklyn, New York. Deeply influenced by ceremonial music from around the world, watching Bethany & Rufus together in concert is like watching two spirits weave a river of song, prayer and dance of improvised melodies, ancestral incantations and ecstatic groove.
As the daughter of folk legend Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary, Bethany’s singing is rooted the traditional American folk music, blues and spirituals. Rufus is a world renowned cellist who is known for his cross cultural collaborations and taking the cello into previously unexplored realms — including adding a fifth string to it!
A live show with Bethany & Rufus is always an incredible event. But the upcoming show on April 28 will be even more meaningful, because 5% of all wine sales – by the glass and by the bottle – will be donated to the Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium.
Bethany & Rufus have been fierce defenders of the environment for many years; having been deeply involved in efforts to ban fracking and to block new fossil fuel infrastructure all across New York including the Finger Lakes Region. They are strong, vocal advocates for bringing clean, renewable energy to local communities.
Join us on Saturday, April 28, for this amazing show with Bethany & Rufus, and help to support the Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium and its mission to inspire appreciation and stewardship of the cultural heritage and ecological evolution of the vast Finger Lakes Region.
