“Meet Me in Auburn” Campaign Launches

The New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center (ERHC) and City of Auburn Historic and Cultural Sites Commission have launched their summer campaign, “Meet Me in Auburn.” The multi-faceted marketing campaign invites visitors from across New York State and beyond to meet up in Auburn, NY – a central location in the Finger Lakes Region – and discover all there is to do. As the City’s visitor center, the ERHC is poised to help travelers plan their visit, before their adventure begins.

A dedicated landing page, www.MeetMeInAuburn.com, gives visitors a taste of what makes Auburn a great destination – such as:

  • Where history meets innovation: the historical and cultural sites that tell the stories of Harriet Tubman and William Seward or showcase technological advancements, like at the Case Research Lab.
  • Where culture meets nature: the flourishing art scene at places like the Schweinfurth Art Center and Auburn Public Theater, and nearby lakeside outdoor activities that can fill one’s unforgettable day or weekend.

Where foodies meet Finger Lakes wine: the delectable farm-to-table food and craft beverage options for a casual bite or intimate experience.

Furthermore, visitors are encouraged to visit the ERHC as a starting point and travel guide for their visit. Located within walking distance of all of Auburn’s major attractions, the ERHC gives visitors a warm welcome to Auburn. Its staff and volunteers are available to provide recommendations or information for making the most of one’s time in the City. The award-winning modern space also showcases the inspiring stories of New Yorkers in its immersive exhibit “Seeing Equal Rights,” providing information on equal rights sites across the state.

The ad campaign pairs new, modern photography and videography with a nostalgic look and feel. A tourism promotional video was created for the campaign, portraying the excitement, history, and opportunity awaiting in a visit to Auburn. The video is available here. The campaign’s messaging is intriguing and exploratory, asking visitors who or what they will meet in Auburn. Everyone is invited to write their own story in the charming and welcoming city, and the ERHC is the place to start.

As of June 1, drivers around the Finger Lakes Region have noticed a series of billboards featuring the “Meet Me In Auburn” slogan. Digital displays in the cities of Auburn and Seneca Falls and digital advertising direct visitors to the campaign’s landing page. In addition, print ads, email marketing and public relations efforts will be promoting Auburn as visitors’ new favorite destination throughout the summer and early fall.

The NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center and the City of Auburn partnered with firms TGW Studio and Break the Ice Media on the project.
