Lyons is honored to be able to welcome Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. now located at 44 William Street. Carolyn Cook, founder, has been helping families since May, 2016. Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. mission statement is “to be a valuable resource to anyone we encounter by helping them gain items necessary to improve their quality of life.” Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. includes a thrift store and food pantry to help those in need. They provide holiday items and winter coats to children, host school supply and clothing drives in August and two (2) events in December for toys and coats. They will also pickup and deliver local donations at no cost. They have started the “Kicks for Kids” program, where they collect and distribute new or gently used shoes to elementary school children. The hours for the Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. hosts monthly free give away events that is open to the public, conveniently on the same day as the Foodlink distribution. Making it easy for those in need to be able to do “one stop shopping”. Helpful Hearts Community Closet, Inc. is looking for volunteers, along with additional items or donations.
