“The second Sunday in December is almost here, and we all know what that means,” Chris Kenyon said. “We need a larger stage for all our musicians. This has to be the most exciting concert yet; however, I say that every year. And, can you believe we have been playing music in Wolcott for 19 years? Time does fly-by when you’re having fun.”
Kenyon, who has promoted the annual Sawyer Christmas concert event with Jeff Sawyer since 2000, is pleased to once again partner with the LNB.
“We are delighted to have LNB underwrite this very popular concert,” Kenyon said. “LNB has always supported local events, and their partnership gives us the opportunity to provide excellent music for the community with no admission. It’s all about people with LNB.”
The 19th annual “An Afternoon with Jeff Sawyer” Christmas concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Wolcott on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3-5 pm. This is a free admission concert with refreshments served during intermission.
If you have attended the annual “Afternoon with Jeff Sawyer” concert before you already know what type of entertainment to expect. Sometimes described as a “very warm and fuzzy” afternoon, this concert is sure to put you in a festive mood.
Jeff Sawyer, along with Matt Vacanti on bass and Rick Bush, harmonica-vocals and Kelley Loveless have been the regular performers, however the entire band features some of New York’s finest performers.
Joe Zarr, the well-known saxophone player from the Syracuse area will be part of the entertainment. Joe Cortini from Central New York’s own Cortini Brothers will be drumming and Larry Kyle, the best blues singer in Western New York will be strumming ukulele and guitar.
“Mike Yacci will be returning this year so expect some surprises from this exciting keyboard player,” Kenyon said. “And of course, there will be special surprises.”
