I have subscribed to Life in the Finger Lakes for several years and look forward to every release.
When reading the March/April 2020 issue, I came across the article on the artist Brian Keeler. I was immediately fascinated with his picture “April Evening, Cayuga Lake at Aurora, NY.” It left no doubt in my mind that it was the southern end of Lake Road. My daughter/son-in-law have a summer home just south of Long Point State Park and I drive this section of Lake Road frequently. The picture, I would say, is very near the entrance to Camp Gregory where I spent several summers there as a camper.
Not only am I impressed with Brian’s paintings but to see one that resembles a specific place is awesome. Thanks for the article and I am perusing his website and who knows where we go from there.
Thanks for a great magazine and I have visited many places that I never knew about based on the various articles.

On my walk this morning I viewed what appeared to be an otter like animal swimming up the shoreline of Cayuga Lake. Our lake house is in King Ferry, New York. It seemed long and slender. Maybe it was a mink. Either way, it was a wonderful encounter. I would love to get involved somehow in the efforts to bring this beautiful creature back to the Finger Lakes.

Thank you for reading the online article about river otters, which originally was published in the Spring 2002 issue. FingerLakesMagazine.com has an archive of all past issues. — Editor
