A Weekend of Cultural Exchange and Skill-building In Celebration of the International Sport of Jump Rope, September 24-25
Ithaca local community leader Davi Mozie is working with a coalition of organizations to offer two days of community activities celebrating the international sport of jump rope. Events will kick off on September 24 with a $50 ticketed training session at GIAC for adults on how to start a double dutch/ jump rope club or team and how to use jump rope to build community. From noon to 2 p.m. a training session for jumpers with individual, single or Double Dutch jump roping skills will be offered that is free for youth. On September 25 at 1:30 p.m., the community is invited to attend a free jump rope exhibition at Streets Alive! in front of Southside Community Center that brings together the Greater Ithaca Activities Center Jumpers, Innocent Nyangori, an International Jump Rope Competitor and President of the Jump Rope Association of Kenya with the Floyd Little Exhibition Team from Newark, New Jersey, stars of the Lifetime TV show JUMP!
