Inspiration and Wanderlust


Pittsford Fine Art member Suzi Zefting-Kuhn is the featured artist for December! Stop by and see her work on First Friday, December 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.

In May of this year Pittsford Fine Art member Suzi Zefting-Kuhn and four other local artists from the Rochester area traveled to South Africa for a grand painting and travel adventure hosted by Workshops in South Africa ( The participants were treated to four- and five-star accommodations, safaris and gorgeous scenery. Suzi arrived back home with over a thousand photos and plenty of inspiration. The paintings completed so far will be premiered at the gallery during the month of December. Zefting-Kuhn’s artwork feature oils of the wildlife, the people and the scenery from the Cape Winelands, along with three game reserves she visited. Her artwork in the coming year will feature numerous scenes from her South Africa trip and will be on display at Pittsford Fine Art.

Zefting-Kuhn is a Pittsford resident who maintains an art studio with members of the group she founded fourteen years ago called the Main Street Artists Gallery and Studio. They are located in the Fedder Building at 1237 East Main Street in Rochester, NY. Suzi is past President of the Rochester Art Club, a patron member of the Portrait Society of America and signature member of the National Association of Women Artists. She is also a member of the National Acrylic and Oil Painters Society, the Pastel Society of Western New York and the Mill Art Center. Zefting-Kuhn is mostly self-taught but had the privilege of studying briefly with nationally acclaimed artists that were invited to teach at the Rochester Art Club.

Oils and pastels are the mediums of choice for Zefting-Kuhn’s realistic artwork. Her favorite subjects are people and animals. Along with viewing her original art at Pittsford Fine Art, you can also see her art at where individuals can also inquire about her commission work.
