Celebrate at their 33 Anniversary Party on Saturday, August 4, 2018
Cameron and Maren Hosmer began planting grapes on the gentle slopes of Cayuga Lake in the early 1970s. After spending over 10 years simply growing and selling grapes, they made their first vintage of wine in 1985; establishing Hosmer Winery. They opened up their first tasting room in the garage of their home in the summer of 1986. In 1990, with increased production and growing recognition, the decision was made to renovate a barn across the street and inaugurate a new tasting and retail facility. This is where Hosmer Winery now welcomes thousands of visitors each year to learn about and experience Hosmer wine.
As they reflect on the 33rd year in business thus far, they can’t help but look back on the great milestones. Hosmer wines were featured in Wine Enthusiast with the 2016 Pinot Noir, 2016 Chardonnay, and 2015 Limited Release Chardonnay all bringing home 90 points. Hosmer was also recognized at the NYIWC as New York Dry Riesling Winery of the Year. They are excited to be expanding their Riesling portfolio this year with 2 new wines. One of which is a Sparkling Riesling called ‘Naomi’, named after Cameron Hosmer’s grandmother. The other wine, a Late Pick Riesling, will be unveiled at the Anniversary Party.
