Valentine’s Day is my mother’s birthday, so we always have reason to celebrate! It hasn’t really ever been about finding a single valentine, but instead about showing everyone that you care about that they’re loved.
And whether you’re thinking of a significant other, a family member, or a really close friend, it seems to be that everyone can appreciate some form of the classic valentine gift: flowers, chocolates, a nice dinner, a handmade card – you name it!
And for the valentines that are inevitably a little extra special, the classic is arguably jewelry.
My suggestion: instead of the standard heart-shaped bling, why not go for something a little closer to home? Or rather, actually home?
Already Life in the Finger Lakes famous, brothers Sean and Scott Weaver behind Finger Lakes Jewelry know a lot about the lakes that some of us are lucky to call home. They also know a lot about gold.
If you and your extra special valentine have one particular lake that will be forever engrained in your hearts, one of the Finger Lakes Jewelry pendants will surely bring out some well-deserved happy tears.
If you’re like me, however, and get blurry eyed at just the thought of the entire Finger Lake Region, the Finger Lakes Charm from the Jewelbox’s Micky Roof might fit the bill – and it comes in more than just necklace form. She also has some neat pendants inspired by starry nights over various falls throughout the region.
If you’re looking for Wow Factor and know that your cooking skills are less than stellar, a little gold piece of your heart might just do the trick. ‘Tis the season to be sentimental, after all.
