The holidays are approaching and that means that the Museum of Wayne County History presents the ever popular fundraiser, the Holiday Boutique in Lyones. Hundreds of visitors came last year to shop at the multitude of vendors booths and enjoy the decorations that filled the museum. Visitors bought their holiday decorations and presents from the artisans and crafters placed throughout the museum during this special event. This year the Holiday Boutique will be held December 6 & 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Many artisans are back and some new ones have also joined us. This year’s vendors are:
- Lyons Heritage Society with all things peppermint
- Jack Milliken with florals and wreaths
- Jay Hyland with Jewelry; Christine Champion with Vintage Christmas items
- Terry Holt with Primitive Dolls, pin cushions, and pillows
- Steve Duprey with artwork; David Almond with vintage holiday and antiques
- Anne Cook with silver jewelry and hand painted items
- FLXcreatives with a variety of art, photography, homemade beard oil and other toiletries
- Kathy Sklenar will be taking holiday pictures in the jail cell washroom
- Barbara Weeks Wilkins with a variety of crafts and vintage items
- Sharon Yonker with cloth baskets and crochet items
- Pam Lee with hand painted repurposed antiques and herbs; the museum booth will feature framed historic maps and handmade crafts
- Michele DiSanto with chocolate goods
- Marge Perez with her latest book on Wayne County history
- Cindy Duprey with historical fiction books and her Diana Hunter adult literature
- Sage Studios with glass items
Each of the vendors also donates an item to the incredible museum raffle and all items are raffled off on Saturday at about 4pm.
The museum will again be serving lunch on Friday and Saturday from 11-2 for $8 and coffee, teas and desserts throughout the day. Again this year, the lunch has been moved downstairs to the lower level, placing all the vendors on the first and second handicapped accessible floors.
