The Downtown Ithaca Alliance welcomes you to Gallery Night Ithaca – January 2019 edition! Gallery Night Ithaca is walkable tour of art openings and other special cultural events in and around downtown Ithaca, New York taking place from 5:00-8:00 PM on the first Friday of every month. There is sure to be something that will catch your eye, whether you’re a seasoned collector or a first-time browser.

Locations and Exhibits this month are at CAP ArtSpace, State of the Art Gallery, Community School of Music and Arts, Handwork, Hilton Garden Inn, Collegetown Bagels, The Bookery, Ink Shop Studio Gallery, Press Cafe, New Roots Charter School, and at the W State St Gimme Coffee.

Two Foxes Studio is a boutique millinery studio created by Kimberly Hutsal, located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. Join us at Handwork and learn how Kimberly creates her truly unique hats in-store. Part of Ithaca’s First Friday Gallery Night.

21st Annual Great Downtown Chili Cook-Off
Saturday, February 9, 2019
The Commons

The Chili Cook-off features chili prepared by 40+ restaurants as they compete for the titles of Best Meat/Overall Chili, Best Vegetarian/Vegan Chili, and People’s Choice Chili. In addition to chili, there are other chili-related food items. The Chili Cook-off will feature a farmers market with vendors and local wineries, breweries, and farmer’s sampling their goods. All activities will take place on the Ithaca Commons and surrounding streets.

Chili Cook-Off Comedy Festival

Comedy On The Commons is back with the Chili Cook-off Comedy Festival. Friday, February 8th at 8 p.m. it’s Upstate New York’s funniest comedians at the Carolina Reaper Comedy Show. Then Saturday, February 9th at 8 p.m get ready for a New York City Comedy takeover with the Ghost Pepper Comedy Show. 2 Days, 2 Shows, featuring the best of New York and Upstate Rising Comedy Stars.

 

Ithaca Loves Teachers Winter Recess

The Ithaca Loves Teachers festival, now in its 13th year, is a celebration of Pre-K through 12 public educators and school district employees. Ithaca will come together for a week to celebrate educators with entertainment, activities, family fun and discounts throughout the Tompkins County community.
