It might seem like wine tours are meant for warmer times of the year, but that’s not the case in the Finger Lakes. Even if summer is fast becoming a distant memory, there’s still an abundance of wine-related activities happening at dozens of wineries across the region. Here’s just a few to get you started on your winter wine tour schedule.
Inspire Moore Winery
Located in the village of Naples, Inspire Moore Winery is a small, local winemaker that creates a unique variety of wines. As a boutique winery with a sustainability focus, all their wine is produced in small lots and only a few thousand cases are made per year, making each bottle truly unique. Still, there’s a dozen different kinds of wine to choose from, from their flagship Riesling to their award-winning Blaufrankisch. There’s something for everyone and most importantly, their tasting rooms are open all winter long, making them the perfect place to warm up during the long, cold months.

Glenora Wine Cellars
If you’re looking for a way to sweeten your winter, Glenora Wine Cellars in Dundee has the perfect twist on the typical wine tasting. Rather than the usual food and wine pairings, Glenora pairs wines with different kinds of chocolates. Each truffle is handmade by local Corning confectioner, Dimitiri’s Confectionary Treats, and is expertly paired with one of the winery’s own vintages. Whether you like milk, dark, or white chocolate or red, white, or sparkling wine, this is a cozy way to spend a winter day.

Belhurst Estate
Nothing says winter like spending your day drinking wine in a castle. The Belhurst Castle has a long history in Geneva and is a gorgeous building on its own. Add to that its award-winning wines, and it’s a great place to spend a long winter day exploring the estate. There are also two restaurants to choose from on the estate and a brewery for any beer lovers. It’s a wonderful way to get a variety of new experiences.
