Corning’s Gaffer District and, GlassFest presenting sponsor, Chemung Canal Trust Company are proud to announce this year’s GlassFest music entertainment.

In its sixth year, GlassFest, a four day celebration of glass and the fire arts has received rave reviews from residents and visitors alike. A major highlight of the event weekend has become the live music throughout the downtown and evening concerts in Riverfront Centennial park, which also include special activities, fireworks and more.

This year’s “Rock the Park” concert series, presented by Simmons-Rockwell, will feature three performances in Riverfront Centennial Park, with a special Sunday afternoon performance for the first time. Attendees will enjoy three brand new bands: Kingsfoil, a popular indie rock group from York, PA on Friday, May 22 at 9 p.m., Mirage – “Visions of Fleetwood Mac” on Saturday, May 23 at 8:15 p.m. and country music artist, Darryl Worley on Sunday, May 24 at 3 p.m.

The “Rock the Park” concerts will be supported by local and regional musicians: Houston Baker on Friday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m., Rob Bellamy on Saturday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m., and Nothin’ New on Sunday, May 24 at noon, followed by Twin Tiers Idol winner, Quentin Harriger, at 1:30 p.m.

As always, the “Rock the Park” performances are free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

“We are so grateful to Simmons Rockwell for their support of the ‘Rock the Park’ concerts,” said Coleen Fabrizi, Executive Director of Corning’s Gaffer District. “Having our major concerts all in Riverfront Centennial Park is a wonderful setting for what has become one of the most loved experiences of GlassFest. It’s the perfect wrap-up after a day of exploring our full line-up of activities, entertainment, great shopping and dining throughout the district.”

In addition to this year’s concerts in the park, musicians will perform live at many locations throughout Downtown Corning. Fans of Houston Baker can watch him live on the Centerway Square stage from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Friday, May 22, at the start of this year’s wine and beer tasting.

Alice Kim, a local singer-songwriter, will also play the Centerway Square stage on Saturday, May 23 at 1 p.m.

Jayne & Bram, an Irish music duo, will perform at the fountain near Market Street Brewing Company on Saturday at noon, while The House Cats, a local blues band, perform at The Radisson Hotel Corning back lawn from 4 to 7 p.m.
