It’s time to throw a little heat on the winter season. The annual Fire & Ice Winter Festival in Downtown Canandaigua kicks off on Saturday, February 17. This year’s event is the second being promoted in the Winter in Canandaigua series of winter fun.
Bundle up and head to Downtown Canandaigua, NY just 30 minutes from Rochester and an hour from Syracuse. Experience impressive ice sculptures throughout the city. The two-day weekend event schedule (February 17-18) features professional ice carving competitions, a fireman experience, and two fire shows featuring world-record holder, The Fire Guy. Other festival activities are more warming, such as a warm beverage trail, furry winter friends from reindeer to alpacas and the Annual Chefs challenge, pitting local chefs to compete for top honors in the 2024 Chili Cook Off.
This event has something for all ages and many activities are free or low-cost. Festival-goers can enjoy activities and specialties provided by local businesses from glass flaming to candle making throughout downtown or pop into a nearby restaurant for tasty local bites and sips.
