The Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium (FLM&A) is excited to announce a partnership with L.L.Bean and Keuka Lake State Park, to offer a series of six free outdoor clinics this summer. Each clinic will be taught by L.L.Bean experts from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Keuka Lake State Park pavilion. There will be no park entrance fee required for these clinics.

“L.L.Bean is proud to support the Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium and its goal to bring the heritage and history of the Finger Lakes to life,” says Scott Janas, Program and Outreach Coordinator of Outdoor Discovery Programs at L.L.Bean. “With so many of our outdoor courses and clinics happening in and around the lakes, it just made sense to work together.”

The mission of the FLM&A is to inspire appreciation and stewardship of the cultural heritage and ecological evolution of the vast Finger Lakes Region.  Located in the hamlet of Branchport, New York, on the northwest fork of Keuka Lake, the FLM&A’s 29-acre site encompasses a 16-acre wetland/preserve – known as the Townsend-Grady Wildlife Preserve – and a 13-acre Campus that includes a 17,000 square foot building currently under phased renovation. Since its inception in 2008, the FLM&A has fulfilled its mission through outreach and new experiential program offerings each year, while working to establish an indoor space for even more experiences and exhibits. Each summer the FLM&A offers a full calendar of public programs that include community and evening paddles, outdoor yoga, wildlife photography classes, timber-frame workshops, woods walks, bird identification walks, and more!

“Receiving support from a nationally recognized organization like L.L.Bean and from our neighboring state park are both thrilling opportunities for the FLM&A!” says Natalie Payne, Executive Director at the FLM&A.  “We welcome the chance to partner with like-minded entities that both celebrate and encourage exploration of the diverse natural environments here in our fascinating Finger Lakes Region.”

Anyone interested in attending one of these L.L.Bean clinics at Keuka Lake State Park should register through the FLM&A website, www.FingerLakesMuseum.org, to reserve their spot!
