Long Acre Farms is excited to announce that the 2020 Amazing Maize Maze theme is Cast Your Vote! 2020 is not only a presidential election year, but also the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote! Long Acre Farms is owned by a family full of women so it is important we honor this momentous year.
The 5-acre corn field will depict a traditional voting ballot box, and as guests navigate the paths they will learn some facts about the history of voting in the United States & around the world. The mazers are encouraged to collect pieces of the maze map puzzle located in mailboxes throughout the maze. These pieces can be taped onto their gameboard, and if all twelve mailboxes are found, the pieces will build a picture of the whole maze that the guest can then use to navigate their way out. The average time in the maze can vary from 30 minutes to over 2 hours depending on the luck and the skill of the maze teams.
New this summer we are offering additional days to experience the maze on a summer evening – called “Summer Soiree!” The Amazing Maize Maze will be open on August 14th, 15th, 22nd, 28th, 29th & September 4th from 4-8pm. There will be a pop-up wine garden next to JD Wine Cellars to enjoy a glass or bottle before tackling the maze, and there will also be wood-fired pizzas available for purchase each night! Admission tickets are $15/adult ages 13+ when bought in-person or purchase online and save $3. Kids ages 3-12 are $12/each or save $2 when purchased online. Each ticket includes entrance to the Amazing Maize Maze and the Back 40.
