In February, the FLBM is offering the third of a series of seventeen workshops devoted to building a traditional round bottom, oak ribbed, carvel planked row boat.
February 10th– Strongback – Learn how to build the apparatus that holds the boat’s skeleton while the construction takes place. In this case the strong back will be suspended in a frame structure that allows the strongback to rotate, as on a spit.
This workshop, led by Ed Wightman, will be held at 10 AM at the Museum, 8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport.
Preregistration is required by February 3rd. You can register by calling the Museum at 607-569-2222 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Workshop fees are $35 for nonmembers, $30 for museum members and $25 for each accompanying family member.
