Artist Theda Sandiford channels microaggressions – intentional or unintentional verbal or behavioral slights that communicate hostile or negative attitudes toward culturally marginalized groups – she faces every day into her artwork. The resulting exhibition, “Triggered, Truth & Transformation,” will be on display at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY, from March 25 to May 28, 2023. Her exhibit includes an interactive public art installation that invites people to white their microaggressions onto ribbons and tie them to a reclaimed fishing net.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Easter Sunday
Admission: $10 per person or $15 per person to tour all exhibits at the Schweinfurth and Cayuga Museum of History & Art
