Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, Tin Can Tourists will showcase vintage camping trailers from every corner of its Northeast Region this September at Sampson State Park. The 12th annual Northeast Rally will feature nearly 100 campers in two loops of the former Navy and Air Force training site, September 12-15.

Tin Can Tourists was formed in 1919 to “unite fraternally all autocampers,” and today the organization holds rallies across the country for camping trailer enthusiasts to gather, socialize, and show their campers. The public is invited to a free open house on Saturday, September 14, from 11:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. Visitors can check out the interiors of a wide variety of makes and models and reminisce with the owners as they walk through the display of “rolling history.” The Silo Food Truck will also be there Saturday, with a menu including “sustainably farmed, all-natural, free-range fried chicken (on the bone) and homemade sauces and pickles made to perfection.” For more information, visit www.silofoodtruck.com.

Although entries for the event are sold out for this year, visit https://tincantourists.com/events/category/northeast-region/ to find updates on the 2020 event.
