We are pleased to announce the reception of the new
Ithaca College Art Department Creative Space Gallery
at
215, The Commons.
In Theories will open May 1st on First Friday Gallery Night.
This show opening is the culminated effort of those in the Theories of Art Practice seminar at Ithaca College. The seminar focuses on preparing students in their senior or junior years for careers in art. By handling all aspects of the show, the class is gaining firsthand experience in learning what it takes to run a gallery space. This inaugural exhibition will kick off a series of upcoming events in this year-round space. This show features work from artists across a variety of different mediums, including painting, printmaking, video, drawing and sculpture. It will showcase the hard work from the students at Ceracche center including works from:
Andrea M. Aguirre Emma Calkins Christina Davis Julia Dubin Kelsey Fons Jihad Ford Liz Hallwood Carolyn Hoffman Katrina Killebrew Gregory Hammond LaPierre Natalie Lazo Hanna Lee Kyle Rothman Emily Turrell Marisa Weissman
Enjoy live music, food and refreshments at the opening.
This will be a night you won’t want to miss as the soon to be completed commons will be lit up with the light from our gallery space and the warm spring air will keep the night alive!
We hope to see you there! For further information feel free to contact Bill Hastings at bhastings@ithaca.edu.
Lastly, if you happen to miss this opening the space will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 5 pm, and will run from this opening date until May 17th.
