Join this special event combining a beginner bird walk with current research on Song Sparrows and how these birds go about choosing a mate. Meet at the entrance to the Visitor Center. Cayuga Bird Club guides will lead you to the research site where you’ll see a banding demonstration and participate in acoustic monitoring with a Lab scientist. After the program, the bird walk continues as you look and listen for the birds of spring.

Please dress for the weather, wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. Be prepared to be outside for 1.5-2 hours and cover about two miles. Binoculars are available to borrow. The Cornell Lab’s Visitor Center is closed for renovation, but a portapotty is available. Registration is recommended for this free program.
