The Ithaca Shakespeare Company this year presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Henry IV outdoors in rotating repertory in the beautiful Jackson Grove of the Cornell Plantations. Midsummer is a favorite with modern audiences, and Henry IV was Shakespeare’s most popular play in his own time. Midsummer provides romance, magic, and comedy, and Henry IV delivers powerful drama, medieval sword battles, and comedy too, led by the larger-than-life Sir John Falstaff. The Ithaca Shakespeare company draws thousands of fans from throughout the Finger Lakes region and beyond to see its shows every year, and this summer’s program is a particular treat that should not be missed. Shows are 6:00 to 9:00 Thursday through Sunday (i.e., no shows Monday through Wednesday). Henry IV shows are July 9, 11, 17, 19, 23, and 25, and Midsummer shows are July 10, 12, 16, 18, 24, and 26. Advance sale premium and general admission tickets are available online, and at the door until sold out. Details can be found at ithacashakespeare.org/prod/201507/index.php. Huzzah!!!
