Pittsford painter Suzi Zefting-Kuhn will be the guest artist at Pittsford Fine Art for the month of August. The opening reception will be Friday, Aug. 7 from 6 – 8 pm at Pittsford Fine Art, 4 North Main St. in the center of Pittsford. Zefting-Kuhn specializes in portraits of people and animals in both oil and pastel. She is the third guest artist at the new Pittsford gallery, which features a different guest artist each month, in addition to its daily display of work from its 11 member artists.

“Suzi’s portraits reveal a depth of character that is achieved through years of practice. Her animal portraits make the viewer feel such empathy and curiosity for creatures so different from us,” says Nancy Lane, a co-owner at the cooperative gallery in the center of Pittsford. Suzi’s paintings of jazz musicians will also be featured.

Suzi has lived most of her life in Rochester, and recently completed 8 years as president of the Rochester Art Club. Her studio is in Main Street Artists Gallery & Studio at the Hungerford Building in Rochester. She is a founding member of the Pastel Society of Western New York. She is also a member Pastel Society of America, Portrait Society of America, National Oil and Acrylic Society, and the Salmagundi Club of NYC. Her website is www.suzizefting-kuhn.com.
