Once in the early 1980s, and then again in 2016, the country was stricken with a plague of phantom clown sightings.  These terrifying apparitions were reported to menace children from a distance, shout abuse at people of all ages, and even attack innocent bystanders.  What provoked these twin spates of brightly-colored terror?  Is some insidious force at work, resulting in the appearance of dastardly jesters every three decades?  Or is there another, even more frightening explanation?  Join adult services librarian Alex Andrasik for a terrifying descent into folklore, true crime, and moral panic.  You’re in for surprises aplenty.  Hosted by Penn Yan Public Library.  Contact: pypl@stls.org
