Heritage Square Museum Opens for the Season
Heritage Square Museum located at Brick Church Corners; 7147 Ontario Center Rd., Ontario, NY will open Saturday, June 6, 2015 with museum building tours.
On Sunday June 7, 2015 there will be a dedication ceremony of the exhibit barn in honor Polly and Bill Crombe. There will also be museum building tours.

Sunday, July 12, 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm: Pioneer Family Day-19th Century activities,

Sunday, August 9, 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm, Music at the Square, learn about 19th century musical instruments. Join the “Heritage Square Museum Band” parade at 3:30 pm and enjoy the ice cream social.

Group tour reservations are being taken now. Don’t wait too long to book your tour! Your group could be school class field trips, family gatherings, clubs (men, women, boys & girls), church groups, and day campers. For school tour reservations contact Polina Doran. Heritage Square Museum is owned and operated by the Town of Ontario Historical and Landmark Preservation Society. This 13-acre site includes historical buildings such as the Ruffell log cabin (discover the secret behind the mantel clock), the Brick Church one-room schoolhouse, the Warner house (have you ever seen a Seraphine?), old town jail, apple dry house, Baptist Meeting House and the recently restored Hojack train station. All buildings have been carefully furnished with period artifacts and great displays. And don’t forget to stop in the gift shop in the Hojack station to take home a special memory of your visit.
Also, did you know that Heritage Square is the home of New York State’s oldest living Sugar Maple Tree? It’s really big! Come take a look at this great tree when you tour these historic buildings with one of our knowledgeable guides.
Museum hours: June 6 to October 4, Sat. & Sun. 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Suggested donation: Adults $4.00, seniors & under 16 $3.00, Families $10.00. Closed July 4th and Labor Day.
