1. Seagulls on the Shore Sat, May 4 11:30-2:30pm
In this beginner acrylic class we will blend colors on the canvas to make a small seascape on an 8”x10”canvas.
2. Pull of the Moon Fri, May 17 11:00-3:30pm
Layer acrylics with stencils on a 12”x12” stretched canvas and discuss the construction of depth in a painting.
3. Breeze in the Trees Sat, May 25 11:00-2:30pm
Try your hand at a loose, bright acrylic painting of swaying trees on an 12” x 16″ canvas.
Art Sketching 101 with instructor Howard VanBuren
2 workshops available, $30 each class
1. “Sketching in Perspective & sketching Structures” Sat, May 11, 1130-2pm
Learn to sketch basic shapes, shading, cast shadows, basic perspective techniques all with suggested practice drills. Learn speed sketching techniques, huge tips on making sketching easy, sketch parts of a house such as doors and windows before sketching a house in perspective following the basic rules of 2-point perspective. Sketch a structure freehand in a step-by-step process complete in about 15 minutes.
2. “Sketching Trees, Rocks and Nature” Sat, May 18, 1130-2pm
Review basic shapes, shading and cast shadows. Learn techniques for sketching trees with and without foliage, tree trunks and roots, trees in the distance, and pine trees. Sketch rocks in a field, in still and moving water, along with mountains and hills that might form a landscape backdrop.
