Pittsford Fine Art
Harry Bliss was an accomplished graphic designer, illustrator and representational fine artist. His later work was influenced by Andrew Wyeth, as shown by his paintings of a bucolic American landscape being altered slowly by the passage of time. This is the first show to feature the longtime Pittsford resident since his death in 2015 at age 92. Long recognized as one of the most accomplished painters to emerge from this region, Bliss went on from the 1962 Wyeth exhibition to hone his craft as a fine art painter, winning awards regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The show opens at Pittsford Fine Art on Jan. 19, with a reception during February’s First Friday event, on Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Most of the works on display will be for sale, with this being a unique chance to purchase and own an original or signed reproduction by Harry Bliss.
The gallery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
