Join us as we explore ‘A Downtown History of Cornell University’. Cornell was founded on East Hill in 1865, but the story of Ithaca’s growth and downtown businesses has long been tied to the history of the campus itself.
This one-hour walking tour guides you through the famous and infamous stories about Cornell and its students. The perfect tour for graduating students, visiting families, and returning alumni.
All tours will meet in the atrium of the Tompkins Center for History & Culture on the Ithaca Commons.
CANCELLATION POLICY – This program supports educational programming from The History Center. We are unable to accommodate cancellations or refund ticket prices as we depend on these funds, however if you contact us 24 hours in advance we are happy to re-schedule to any of our other walking tours this summer (thehistorycenter.net/tours).
WEATHER POLICY – If there is inclement weather predicted for the day of the tour, we will decide by 9am the morning of the tour whether to cancel or go ahead. If the tour is cancelled we will offer a later rain date to all registrants or refund your ticket price in full.
COVID-19 POLICY – The History Center will follow the most up to date guidance from the Tompkins County Health Department. Our organization is a mask friendly space and encourage visitors to practice what is most comfortable to them regarding mask wearing. Learn more at thehistorycenter.net/health
