Fire, Smoke and Spontaneity with Mitch and Barb Messina

Main Street Arts, in partnership with Nazareth College, offers a unique raku and horsehair firing workshop. The first day we will explore using clay two different ways. Kurinuki, a solid shaping technique that we will raku fire along with a slab construction technique that we will finish with a horsehair firing. The second day—firing day!— will be at Nazareth College, where we will experience both firing methods resulting in unique finishes.

*** For safety reasons all participants must wear cotton long sleeve shirts and closed toed shoes on firing day. ***
