The Finger Lakes Riesling & Craft Beer Festival, formerly known as the Riesling Festival, is set for Aug. 8 and 9, 2015, at the New York Wine & Culinary Center and along the Canandaigua City Pier.
Presented by Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLC and supported by Taste NY, the weekendlong festival features the best of what the Finger Lakes region has to offer. This year’s festival is expected to be the largest fundraising weekend in the Finger Lakes region this summer, drawing nearly 35,000 attendees.
Festivalgoers will enjoy a wine garden, complete with wine education seminars and tastings, cheese pairings and samplings of New York state craft beer. Guests will have the opportunity to attend organized cooking demonstrations inside the NYWCC, featuring local foodies from across the region, and enjoy stomping on grapes in large wooden barrels. A variety of local vendors featuring an assortment of items — paintings, jewelry, crafts, farmers market goods, commercial exhibitors and more — will be set up along the pier. Local food, eclectic live music and children’s activities make this festival a perfect family affair along beautiful Canandaigua Lake.
All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Canandaigua YMCA and the New York Wine & Culinary Center. The festival has expanded its proceeds to the NYWCC this year to help support even more local nonprofits in the Finger Lakes region.
