While music making is frequently associated with positive mental health, this association is much more complicated for professional musicians and conservatory music students. The path to becoming a professional musician is usually associated with a set of unique stressors, as well as opportunities to attend to and strengthen one’s mental health and even view it as an integral part of performing music at a high level.
Wellness at Eastman is a new monthly seminar series from Eastman Performing Arts Medicine focused on a healthy and mindful approach to a career as a performing artist. Topics will cover physical and mental health, and how artists can create a sustainable path for their future.
