The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes in partnership with the Geneva Historical Society will present the virtual program, “Early Hop Growing & Beer Production in the Genesee Country” by historian Jane Oakes on Zoom on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
During the mid-19th century, New York State reigned as one of the largest producers of hops in the world. What led to the rise and fall of this hops empire? Historian Jane Oakes will tell the story using images of hop structures and pickers from Central and Western New York.
