The Seward House Museum
We are excited to announce that Culinary Expeditions will be the Seward House Museum’s major fundraiser this year! Back by popular demand, this festive garden party will include live music by Trio Los Claveles and international food tastings, inspired by William H. Seward’s world travels, provided by the Sherwood Inns & Appetites, the Inns of Aurora, and more! The Santiago Cigar Factory will also be on-site providing the finest handmade cigars.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Mr. Seward’s retirement and his first world tour. The trip began almost as soon as he left Washington in March 1869 and included visits to California, Alaska, Mexico, and Cuba. Everywhere he went, Seward was greeted by throngs of excited people, revelries, music and dancing, and local cuisine. When he returned home to Auburn, he brought a taste for these cultures (and their fare) back with him to share with his friends in neighbors.
Tickets: $38/General or $50/VIP*
*VIP tickets include a signature glass and admittance to the event at 5:30 PM. There are a limited number of VIP Tickets available.
