Join Pat and Carol, longtime friends who like to sew, as we combat cabin fever with a few hours of sitting around the kitchen table with tea and cookies as we work on our pieces. We will connect as people have always done doing handicrafts together. Prayer flags are small fabric collages often used for gifts to lift someone’s spirit.

Made from fabric scraps (calico, muslin, burlap, and more), these tiny tapestries are embellished with anything and everything, from buttons to rick-rack to beads, ribbon, appliques, and other kinds of trim. Participants also need to bring a personal sewing kit with needles, small scissors, and other supplies you might need. Materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own to share if you like. Embroidery thread in many colors will be provided.

No special talent or expertise in sewing is required. If you are unsure, we will show you how to easily make these pieces. If you can sew on a button, that is all you need to know. There will be a working lunch break. Bring your own; the kitchen fridge is available. Ordering out is also possible if you prefer.
