Ganondagan State Historic Site
On Saturday, June 27 at 9:00 am, a community of cross country runners will gather again at Ganondagan State Historic Site to take on the demanding “Charlie’s Old Goat Run.” This challenging seven-mile (plus or minus) trail race leads runners through hills, streams, rocky outcroppings, slippery mud boardwalks, forests, and lush meadows. It showcases the camaraderie and beauty of off-road running while giving back to the community. Part of the proceeds help maintain Ganondagan’s trails that are free and open to the public year round.
Organizers Charlie and Sarah Sabatine created “Charlie’s Old Goat Run” more than a decade ago, and settled on Ganondagan State Historic Site five years ago.
Tech Ts will be given out to the first 200 registered runners, and all finishers enjoy the post-race celebration with homemade cookies, brownies, pizza, and more. This year’s run caps at 300.
Pre-registration is $25 by June 21 and $30 thereafter, including from 7-9:00 am on race day. Packet pickup and in-person registration takes place on Friday, June 26th from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at Medved, 3400 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY.
