Our “Book to Film” series continues with a showing of the 1956 version of Moby-Dick featuring Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab. Ishmael signs on to the Pequod, a whaling ship captained by the brooding, one-legged Ahab, whose life has become obsessed by his pursuit of Moby Dick, the crafty, enigmatic great white whale that maimed him. A short discussion will follow for those who would like to discuss similarities and differences between Herman Melville’s novel and this movie adaptation. Popcorn will be provided.
