The Skaneateles Area Arts Council (SKARTS) is celebrating and supporting local artists with their third annual ART4SKARTS Juried Art Show and Sale on July 13 and July 14. This year’s exhibit will be held at the newly re-opened Case Mansion in Auburn, NY.
The exhibit will include 134 works by 80 artists, and it will feature a wide variety of mediums, from paintings to sculptures to photographs. All artwork is for sale.
“SKARTS had an incredible response from artists, more entries than ever before,” said Chiara Kuhns, SKARTS Board President. “The jury had to be more selective this year. It was hard to choose!”
The opening reception is on Friday, July 13 from 5-8pm. The evening is an opportunity to talk with the artists about their work and enjoy appetizers, local wine and beer. The event will include live music with Auburn bassist Zane Carnes and Skaneateles violinist Jimmy Dranscak.
“It will be a fun evening, and we are so excited to have it in Auburn at the Case Mansion. The Presbyterian Church has been doing amazing renovations to this beautiful, historic venue,” commented Kuhns.
Funds raised through the art sale and reception will be used to fund grants given annually by SKARTS to local artists and non-profit organizations. Since 2006, SKARTS has issued close to $100,000 in funding for free community concerts and cultural programs.
Tickets to Friday’s reception are $50/person. Participating artists receive one complementary ticket. To purchase tickets, visit www.skarts.org. In addition to Friday, the exhibit will be on view Saturday, July 14 from 10am-4pm, with a suggested donation at $5 at the door. The Case Mansion is located at 108 South Street in Auburn, NY.
